Details: In 2025 we welcome keynote speaker Rosie Batty AO to Wollongong.

After her 11-year-old son Luke was tragically killed by his father, Rosie Batty transformed her grief into a powerful campaign against domestic violence. From the start, she made sure her story gave a voice to countless victims, advocating for change. Rosie became the inaugural Chair of the Victorian Government’s Victim Survivor’s Advisory Council, following the first Royal Commission into Family Violence. Her advocacy has earned her numerous honours, including Australian of the Year, the Pride of Australia National Courage Medal, and the Order of Australia. She’s been inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women and named one of Fortune’s top 50 greatest leaders. Twice, she was voted the most influential person in the not-for-profit sector on Pro Bono Australia’s Impact 25 list.

Rosie’s true legacy is her ability to inspire. By sharing her story of resilience, she has empowered others to confront darkness, find hope, and move forward. Rosie Batty stands as a beacon of strength and hope for a more compassionate future.

Each year, International Women’s Day celebrates a worldwide theme and in 2025 the theme is March Forward. It’s time to turn promises into progress and march forward for a gender equal future.

The annual charity fundraiser is one of the most sought-after events on the Illawarra calendar and helps raise awareness of the need for gender parity around the world.
